There are two different variants of plastic cards with magnetic stripes: HiCo and LoCo cards with magnetic stripes. The LoCo plastic cards with 300oe have a lower magnetic flux density than the HiCo plastic cards with 2750oe or 4000oe, which means that the HiCo plastic cards are much more resistant to magnetic influences and data loss from outside.
The magnetic stripe of the plastic cards normally consists of 3 tracks with a total storage capacity of 1024 bits. Tracks 1 and 2 are only for reading data, track 3 for reading or writing. Magnetic stripes cannot be subsequently applied to plastic cards.
