Information on cleaning materials
Cleaning cards: To guarantee a perfect function of the HID Fargo HDP5000 card printer, your printer should be cleaned after 1000 card prints at the latest. Cleaning can be started at the printer or via the device driver. This will remove any dirt and dust that has entered the printer over time. Dirty rollers can no longer transport the cards properly in the card printer and lead to unpleasant card jams and unsightly stains on the printed cards.
Cleaning pens: These can be used to clean the HID Fargo print head from dust and ribbon residue. Please proceed very carefully here, as the print head is extremely sensitive and very expensive. Cleaning pens can be used several times.
Cleaning sticks: These are designed to clean the HID Fargo printer in hard-to-reach areas and to clean the print head on re-transfer printers. Pressing on the style activates the cleaning fluid.
Regular cleaning is a prerequisite for HID Fargo's warranty service and reduces annoying and expensive misprints with your HDP5000.
